Region & industrial environment
Dordrecht lies at the southern edge of the Rijnmond area, in the delta of the Rhine, Meuse and Merwede. The waterways around the site are also the transport axes of its industry: some 27 kilometres to the west the refineries and chemical plants of the Botlek begin, a good 42 kilometres out Europoort follows. To the south, the Antwerp chemical belt (56 km) and the plants in Zeeland (75 km) and Terneuzen (78 km) fall within our area of operation.
The customer types we serve here are refineries, petrochemical plants, power stations and steel and metal producers. What they have in common is that shutdowns are counted in hours and that removing a component usually costs more than machining it where it stands — which is precisely what this branch is set up for.
