Region & industrial environment
Hoogerheide is our workshop location for the Dutch side of the Antwerp cluster. At the heart of its equipment is a very large annealing furnace, loaded by a travelling bridge crane — which makes heat treatment possible for components too heavy or too bulky for fixed installations. What cannot sensibly be machined on site comes here instead of being driven across Europe.
Geographically the site sits directly on the border: the chemical and refinery plants around Antwerp are about ten kilometres away, Beveren 21 kilometres. On the Dutch side we cover Zeeland and Terneuzen (39 km), Nieuwdorp (41 km) and Moerdijk from here; northwards the area reaches into the Botlek (51 km), eastwards to Geel (58 km). The Belgian side of the same cluster is served by our branch in Temse.
